Beach Information

The pool area is maintained by a number of pool attendants. Food and beverage is available poolside through the Beach Club Cafe. The pool is 8ft. deep and holds 55,000 gallons of water. The shallow end is 3 ft. deep and sectioned off for keiki. There is no diving, flotation devices, horseplay or running allowed. The beach area is maintained by attendants who set up umbrellas, lounge chairs and towels in a special roped off area of Waikiki beach.

  • GENERAL SEASONAL SURF CONDITIONS The summer months bring big surf to Waikiki. The water is calm and the surf ranges from 1-3 feet. There are occasional 4-6 ft. swells. The winter months bring placid conditions, and the surf is usually mild, not reaching above 2 ft. It is important to always check with Beach Lifeguards should you have questions regarding the surf or jellyfish conditions.
  • LIFEGUARD ON DUTY (HOURS) There are no lifeguards. Beach attendants are available sunrise to sunset.
  • FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES 9:30 am - 4:30 pm Breakfast and light lunch is served. Cocktail service available 10:30 am - 4 pm.
  • ACTIVITIES Many available selections including Outrigger Canoe rides, Surfing Lessons or board rental can be arranged with vendors on Waikiki Beach near the pool area
  • AMENITIES Towels are provided as well as the daily newspaper and periodicals for reading
  • HOURS OF OPERATION Sunrise to sunset
  • ALCOHOL ALLOWED Yes, Cocktail service available 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • CAN YOU SEE WHALES? During winter months it is possible to see whales spouting and breaching. Turtles and dolphins are also spotted from Waikiki.
  • HOTEL ACTIVITIES Nightly entertainment at the Mai Tai Bar from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Also available, the Royal Hawaiian Lu’au every Monday night on the Ocean Lawn. NOTE: Schedule subject to change without notice.
